The 18th D009

A miracle putter has just been created. At the last year’s Museum & Gallery event a Scotty Cameron fan asked if Scotty was making a putter using Damascus steel and Scotty answered “in the future”. Since then collectors were wondering when and where it will be released and in what model. Scotty chose this year at the Museum & Gallery event to introduce the brand new putters and the model he chose for Damascus was the 009. It was the first time in the history that the chromatic gold Damascus was used for a putter. As Scotty explained to the members at the event, it is the most luxury putter he ever created. The leather used for the headcovers was specially ordered and imported from Italy, and the Damascus steel for the head is much more costly that GSS. Scotty researched and found that the Damascus steel was used for knives in Europe for roughly the last 200 years. The grips are also specially ordered. Scotty had created 9 of the D009s so far, and each of them has serial numbers engraved. He will be making more in the future and will be 27 D009s in total.

The 17th　Newport2 Timeless

Scotty has announced that he will be making the GSS Newport 2 with a head same as the Newport 2 Studio Select. More than 40% of the USPGA tour players use Scotty’s putters in this season and one of the reasons is that the pin type head of Newport 2 Select is overwhelmingly popular among the players. Popular as well is the new series; the Squareback, Fastback, Notchback.
This Select head is an awesome head combining advantages of the Classic and Cameron & Company, a lot of players have changed to this Select head.ﾂ黴 At same time, Scotty is getting many requests from pros that they would like to use the GSS head and is one of the reasons why Scotty decided to make it.ﾂ黴 It is very exciting news, isn’t it?
There is even a rumor that Scotty has already made the first prototype. We can look forward to when and where he will release it.

The 15th Regarding the Pre-Tournament on October 15th

It is less than a month away before the gathering and we have been asked by the attending members what kind of items and putters will be sold at the event. We will be letting you know all about that on October 18th, so please wait until then.
Today we are introducing the grand prizes for the pre-tournament held on October 15th. Please see the pictures below.

The prize for the champion is the prototype, one of a kind, back-side printed polo shirt. The shirts were actually sold in brown and blue, so this smoke green shirt is the only one in the world. It is one rare item indeed.

For the 2nd and 3rd runners-up, the PGA Championship and the Open Championship commemorative headcovers will be presented. These are the same as ones provided to the pros.
If you have not applied for the pre-tournament, we are still accepting applications.
We look forward for your participation.
*The tournament is the Double Peoria system.
*Members who are participating either the first day or the second day (or both) can enter the pre-tournament.

This year’s M & G gathering is less than 2 months away and as it approaches we are often asked from members what items will be sold at the event. So, we will be sharing some pictures of the items with you from now until the event. These are some of the pictures our president took when he visited Scotty at his studio to check on the current situation of putters and other production items. What you see in the pictures are some parts of the items, you’ll have to imagine that what those will turn into. We are sure that every item will turn into something excellent..

The 11th The new turbo blue headcover and putter bag.

In the past we have been presenting members with a Museum & Gallery headcover and a putter bag specially designed by Scotty for those who purchased a Scotty Cameron tour putter, but now we have a new 2009 model turbo blue headcover and putter bag.

ﾂ黴From now on, instead of the Hermes look orange set, we will present a turbo blue set for customers who purchase a tour putter. As much as the orange set has been popular, the new set should be just as popular because of the unique design and beautiful color. We hope you will enjoy them.

The 10th The 3rd Annual Museum & Gallery Gathering

It has been 3 years since we established the Scotty Cameron Museum & Gallery, and this year we are having the 3rd annual gathering for the Museum & Gallery members on October 18th and 19th.ﾂ黴 We are grateful that every year Scotty makes time to come to Japan for this event despite his busy schedule. Every year during the event we schedule a 3 to 4 hour autographing session so that participating members can get to know Scotty more personally, and maybe have a chance to talk to him in person.ﾂ黴

As well, participants have a chance to purchase from the limited number of putters and other goods Scotty produced especially for this event. Most of those items sell out during the event every year, some of the items later receive quite high bids on the internet auctions, as you may have seen.
The second day of the gathering is the golf competition. The winner and the runner-up will be presented an exclusive hand produced trophy by Scotty. There are plenty of other prizes, and you will certainly have a great time.ﾂ黴 Scotty has also strongly requested that we have a contest on scratch this year, which we will.

The 9th Ryuji Imada wins the US PGA

Japanese are rejoicing Ryuji Imada’s triumph at the US PGA tour title, the first time in 5 years that a Japanese pro has won the title. Imada used to use the oil can finish Bulls Eye putter, but now he uses the Del Mar straight-shaft and the Newport Squareback straight-shaft. It seems that he prefers center-shaft putters. Did you notice that the putter he used for this tour had weights mounted in the toe and heel of the face side? Since he likes shorter putters, he needs extra weight to balance the swing weight. The sole of Del Mar is thin, therefore there is not enough room to mount the weights on the bottom. But Scotty came up with the idea to mount the weights on the face side. The weights are boldly mounted over the stamp of Dancing Cameron.
We have sold the Bulls Eye and the Newport Squareback straight-shaft, both same specification as Imada at our shop, and the Del Mar straight-shaft will be for sale again soon. Please look for it at our shop.
By the way, Scotty tour putters have been used by winning golfers in 9 out of 11 recent tournaments. How about that?ﾂ黴
